Abstract
A 42 year old male patient was admitted to this hospital because of the right scrotal mass.
On physical examination, there was no specific finding except the infant fist sized, hard, slight tender palpable mass and laboratory findings including the CBC, liver function test, urinalysis, stool examination and bleeding tendancy were normal limit.
Right..orchiectomy. was done under.r the impression of the testicular tumor on August 23, 1972 Grossly, specimm~en.was, consist..of totally removed testis and epididymis in continuity weighing 120gm.
On transecting through the middle a yellowish hemorrhagic fluctuent tumor mass measuring 5cm. in diameter was identifiable, the central portion of tumor showed hemorrhagic degeneration.
Microscopically, the neplasm was non-germinal origin, showing diffuse infiltrative growth of nonorganoid tumor cells by which most of seminiferous tubules be atrophic and disappeared: individual tumor cells were slightly bizzare but basically simulate those cells of lymphoid line. Often starry-sky phenomenon predominated the neoplastic structures, aside from residual seminiferous tubules with predominant Sertoli cells inside. Encountered were cells of cytologic similarity to reticulum cells, but it was generally considered most of cells being poorly differentiated cells (undifferentiated) or lymphoblastic.
Peripheral blood smear was revealed 4% of atypical lymphocyte and lymphoblastic lymphoma with peripheral penetrations.
Chest P-A, excretory urography and lymphangiography were revealed normal limit and lymphoblastic lymphoma cells, were observed on the bone marrow biopsy.
